The Satin Mukhawar in Sand
There is a wall in Blida's old medina where the afternoon light turns everything the colour of warm sand. When we chose this shade, we were not picking from a chart. We were remembering. This is the colour of doorsteps, of bread fresh from the oven, of a grandmother's hands. The very first ARIFNA was stitched in this colour, and it remains our most loved.
She left Blida but Blida never left her. It was in the way she moved, the way she dressed, the way she made everything around her feel like home.
